This coin was made of aluminum and had a total mintage of 13,423,000 (or 10,082,000 according to another source). It was part of the Austrian Schilling currency which was restored after World War II. The coin features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Austria on its obverse, depicting an eagle with a mural crown, holding a hammer and sickle, symbolizing a liberated Austria. The denomination was short-lived, with only three issues between 1946 and 1952, and the coins were demonetized on June 29, 1957.
